2012 Winter Showdown Series

Rail Jam – January 29th

Up to 100 competitors will converge on a set-up of multiple rails/features. The event willThe Showdown at Bear Creek. be constructed in our base area. This event will be "JAM" format where each division will have a certain amount of time to hit the features as many times as they can. In this first round they will be trying to land tricks that will get them into the finals round.  After all the divisions have had their turn we'll start the finals round which will have eliminated approximately 50% of the riders where they will battle it out head to head for the top 5 spots.  The top 5 spots will be awarded points towards an overall series winner and the top 3 will receive prizes.

Big Air – February 12th

Up to 100 competitors will ride our Big Air set-up on our Cascade trail. In this event, each competitor will get 2 runs where they will try to throw the biggest single trick on our Big Air set-up.  Competitors will be judged on both runs and the highest score will count. Top competitors will advance to the finals.  In the finals competitors will take 2 additional runs, scores will be combined.  The top 5 competitors will be awarded points towards an overall series winner and the top 3 will receive prizes.

Slope Style – February 26th

Up to 100 riders will compete on a Slope Style setup on our Black Bear trail.  The set-up will consist of 2 lines of features  to choose from.  Competitors will have 2 runs on the course. Competitors will be judged on both runs and the highest score will count. Top competitors will advance to the finals. In the finals the riders will take two additional runs, scores will be combined.  The top 5 spots will be awarded points towards an overall series winner and the top 3 will receive prizes.

At the conclusion of the Slope Style competition, all of the points from the series will be tallied and the top 3 competitors in the Open divisions will be awarded cash prizes that totals $3000.  1st will get $750, 2nd will get $450, 3rd will get $300.  In addition series prizes will be awarded to all classes courtesy of our sponsors.


Event Details
  •  Fee - $15 day of or  $40 to for all three events when purchased together.
  • Competitor's will receive a Winter Showdown T-shirt if they compete in all three events.

  • Registration – 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM in Lobby by Guest Services
  • Practice – 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
  • Competition Start Time – 12:00 Noon
