To enter – Recipe Criteria

• Each recipe must be an appetizer with at least 8 appetizer servings.
• Recipes must be typed or legibly written or printed.
• Directions to prepare recipe must be clear and complete.
• Each recipe for the Garlic Lover’s Appetizer Contest must use at least 2 cloves of garlic.
• Each recipe for the Cheese Lover’s Appetizer Contest must use 1 cup shredded cheese (4 ounces).
• Use specific standard US measurements for each ingredient with can and packages sizes listed in the order of their use in the recipe.

Judging and Judging Criteria

Finalists will bring two of their prepared recipes for final judging to the Bear Creek Festival on August 19, 2012. One full recipe will be presented to judges for appearance. The second plate will be portioned for tasting by the judges. The decision of the panel of judges is final.

Recipes will be judged on:

• Taste (25 %)
• Creative Use of Garlic or Cheese (25%)
• Ease of Preparation (25%)
• Appearance (25%)

General Terms & Conditions

Ten Finalists will be selected from the qualifying entries by Bear Creek whose decision is final. Finalists will be notified on or before August 14, 2012.  By entering the contests and accepting prizes, the winners agree to take all responsibility for the use of the prizes. All entrants agree to fully exempt Bear Creek Mountain Resort and all who were involved in developing and executing these contests from liability for any consequences resulting from these contests or prize acceptance. The winners shall bear all risk of loss or damage to their prizes after they have been delivered. Prize winners are responsible for paying any necessary State and Federal taxes related to the winnings. Each winner’s full name, last name, hometown and state will be disclosed in the Winner’s List which will be distributed upon request and as required by law.

Eligibility:

Contests are open to U.S. residents 18 or older. Entries must be received by midnight, Eastern Daylight Time, August 10, 2012 to be considered for this year’s contests. Each entry must be in a separate email or envelope if mailed.

Notification: Potential prize winners will be selected and notified by email or telephone before, on or about August 14, 2012. If potential prize winner cannot be reached within three attempts, does not respond or the attempt is returned as undeliverable for any reason, that potential winner may be disqualified and another will be selected. All prize winners must sign and return Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Releases (where permitted) by August 19, 2012 as a condition of receiving the prize.

No purchase is necessary to enter the contest. Contests are void where prohibited by law, subject to all Federal, state and local laws and regulations. Enter each contest, if you wish, and enter as often as you like, but only one entry per household may qualify as a winner. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Bear Creek Mountain Resort will not be responsible for misdirected or non-delivered entries or for any computer or email delivery system malfunctions or errors what so ever resulting in not receiving entries. All entries become the property of Bear Creek Mountain Resort. Entry constitutes permission to edit, modify, publish and otherwise use the recipe, entrant’s name and town in any way without any compensation.  Your personal information will not be sold or otherwise used for marketing purposes, other than winner’s information.

Contest Prizes:

Prizes are nontransferable and may not be redeemed for cash or other services. No substitution of prizes is allowed. Bear Creek Mountain Resort reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value if warranted.
