BEAR CREEK MOUNTAIN RESORT KICKS OFF WINTER SEASON WITH DISCOVERY PACKAGES
MACUNGIE, PA— To kick off this year’s winter season, Bear Creek Mountain Resort, located in the heart of Berks County, Pennsylvania, will offer a number of special snowsports school programs, including a value rate on its Discovery programs.
The Discovery program, designed for guests ages 10 years and older, includes an extended day lift ticket for beginner lifts and trails and an ongoing lesson, plus rental equipment. The ongoing lesson allows participants to stay in the lesson as long as they to be successful. Participants may take multiple lessons during their visit.
The Kids’ Discovery program, designed for guests ages 6-12 years old, includes an extended day lift ticket for beginner lifts and trails and a two-hour lesson, plus rental equipment.
Discovery and Kids’ Discovery programs are available for both skiers and snowboarders and are valid from open to close on the date of purchase. The package costs $68 on weekdays and $80 on weekends and holidays. Lessons are offered daily. All participants in this program must be at least six years old.
These packages are valid on the following lifts and trails: D lift, E lift, Brown Bear, Cub Run, Paw Prints, Teddy Bear and Drifter. Helmet rentals are not included in the cost of this package, but may be added. For additional information, call 1-866-754-2822 or visit www.bcmountainresort.com.
“We’re looking forward to the upcoming season,” says Mark Schroetel, Bear Creek’s General Manager. “With our discovery programs, women’s clinics, and private lessons, we’re looking for more beginners, whether they’re kids or grandparents, to get in on these wildly popular sports.”
Bear Creek Mountain Resort boasts the highest snowmaking density of any mountain in Pennsylvania, featuring 100 percent snowmaking coverage and 117 total snow guns. Over 50% are automated guns, which communicate with five weather stations on the mountain and automatically adjust themselves every two seconds to perform optimally in the current conditions. The use of automated snowmaking will allow Bear Creek to open trails earlier in the season and maintain snow depth and surface conditions throughout the winter.
