Hiking/Mountain Biking

Bear Creek Mountain Resort & Conference Center offers over 6.5 miles of wooded mountain biking and hiking trails circling our property. Hikers and bikers are invited to use these trails free of charge during the spring and summer months. We only ask you follow a few simple guidelines and stop in at The Grille at Bear Creek for some post ride refreshment.

Guidelines:

  • Sign and submit our waiver, along with the register, at the Trail Head (located in parking lot 4) before using the trails. This helps us keep track of who is on the mountain and allows up to keep the trail access free.
  • If you are not a guest of our on-site hotel, please fill out the parking pass and display it on the dashboard of your vehicle.
  • Stay on marked trails. The ski slopes are not open for hiking or riding and they should only be crossed in designated areas.
  • Bring a buddy- please don't ride or hike alone.
  • Pack it in, pack it out. Please don't litter.

Additional Guidelines for Mountain Bikers:

  • Helmets are strongly recommended while mountain biking.
  • Ride within your ability. Our trails become increasingly difficult as elevation increases.
  • Ride in control and be able to stop.
  • Yield to hikers and uphill riders.
  • Make sure your bike is in good working order before heading out

Our trails are all rugged singletrack and doubletracks with plenty of rocks and a few bridges. All trails are cross-country oriented. We do not offer lift service or "downhill" trails. The ski slopes are closed to riders and hikers. Our mountain biking trails are appropriate for intermediate or better riders with their own properly functioning equipment and helmet. Bear Creek does not currently rent mountain bikes. Hikers should have proper footwear and at least an average fitness level.

After your time on the trail visit The Trail's End Café, our mountainside restaurant featuring a bistro-style menu and wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and beverages. The Trail's End Café is open seven days a week and is the perfect place to refuel after a day on the trail.

For those who want to take their time exploring our extensive trail system, spend the night at The Inn at Bear Creek, our on-site hotel located at the base of the mountain. Featuring 118 rooms, an indoor pool, and indoor/outdoor hot tubs, The Inn at Bear Creek will leave you refreshed and ready for another day on the trail.
