Conquer the Trails: Beginner Mountain Bike Camp

This one-day camp, available by appointment, is perfect for kids aged 8-15 who are new to mountain biking or want to brush up on their beginner skills.

What to expect:

  • Mornings on the Move: Camp runs from 9:30am to 12pm
  • Geared Up for Fun: Learn about essential safety gear and proper bike fit before hitting the trails. You may use a camp bike or bring your own terrain-appropriate, and well-maintained mountain bike.
  • Master the Basics: Our trained instructors will guide you through essential skills like braking, shifting, balancing, and navigating small obstacles.
  • Confidence is Key: We’ll focus on building confidence and comfort on the bike through fun drills and games on gentle terrain.
  • New Friends, New Adventures: Make new friends who share your love for the outdoors and get ready to conquer the trails together!
  • Hit the trails: Bear Creek has trails specifically geared for our campers to utilize the basic skills that they will learn in camp.

By the end of this camp, you’ll be ready to:

  • Safely ride on beginner-friendly trails.
  • Confidently handle basic maneuvers.
  • Have a blast exploring the outdoors on two wheels!

Take Your Skills to the Next Level: Novice Mountain Bike Camp

Calling all shredders who aced the beginner camp, or who are already novice mountain bikers! This one-day camp, available by appointment, is designed for 8-15 year olds who are ready to tackle new challenges on the trails.

What to expect:

  • Mornings for Mountain Biking: Camp runs from 9:30am to 12pm, giving you the whole morning to hone your skills with our trained mountain bike instructors.
  • Building on Basics: We’ll revisit and refine your braking, shifting, and balancing skills while introducing new techniques for handling steeper terrain and more technical sections.
  • Shifting Gears: Learn how to use your gears effectively to climb hills with power and descend with control.
  • Conquer Corners with Confidence: Master the art of cornering with body positioning and weight distribution techniques so you can hug those turns like a pro.
  • Obstacles? No Problem!: Learn how to navigate roots, rocks, and small drops with finesse and build your confidence on trickier terrain.
  • Group Shredding: Ride with your newfound bike buddies and push each other to new heights (figuratively, of course!).

By the end of this camp, you’ll be ready to:

  • Ride with confidence on intermediate trails.
  • Tackle steeper climbs and more technical descents.
  • Handle obstacles with ease, making the trail your playground.
  • Shred alongside your fellow riders and have a blast exploring the outdoors!

Private Lessons for Beginner to Novice Mountain Bikers  by appointment.

Ready to shred some singletrack but feeling unsure where to start? These private mountain bike lessons are designed for either absolute beginners, those transitioning from paved paths to dirt trails, or those with basic mountain bike experience who would like to take their skills to the next level. Ages: 8 – adult.

What you’ll learn:

  • All the skills in our bike camps and group lessons (see above), but at your own pace with your own private instructor.

This private lesson is perfect for:

  • Individuals who are new to mountain biking.
  • Cyclists who are comfortable on paved paths but want to venture off-road.
  • Novice mountain bikers who would like to learn intermediate skills.
  • Riders looking for personalized instruction at their own pace.

Benefits of a private lesson:
